About me
Lisa Bassett has enjoyed a career in music education for the past 20 years. This is her tenth year as the choral director at Chestatee High School in Gainesville, GA. She has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Piedmont College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from North Georgia College & State University. She has served as a professional vocalist, accompanist, private vocal coach, clinician, and adjudicator for various schools, churches, and events. Prior to her current position, she taught at Suwanee Academy of Arts and Riverside Military Academy.
Her choral students consistently earn superior ratings at Large Group performance evaluations, and several of her students and groups have won first place at both Region and State Literary meets. Mrs. Bassett's students have also been selected for the GMEA All-State and All-State Reading Choirs, as well as the Governors Honors Program. She and several of her students have also collaborated with Umbrella Media (a Nashville music production studio) on various recording projects. During her time at Chestatee, Mrs. Bassett’s students have enjoyed several choral collaborations with colleges and universities both in and out of the state of Georgia. She enjoys sharing her passion for music with others, so that they might continue to develop a love and passion for it as well. Mrs. Bassett’s students have gone on to become music teachers, worship leaders, and professional musicians. She enjoys working with and getting to know students and their families.
Mrs. Bassett is a member of the National Association for Educators (NAfME), Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) and the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC). Mrs. Bassett's hobbies include photography, running, and graphic design. She and her husband live in Gainesville with their three children.
